Kewl. Well, I feel that the way to make it better would not to use I-frames, but what if it just opens up a new link? Maybe that would also make things easier. I personally like the feel of the site. The gray is really relaxing, but some work needs to be done to make this place exceptional! =]

2 dedicated people are better than a dozen lazy ones. Don't keep people around for numbers, and if it turns out to only be two of you, so be it. Also match people with tasks that aligns with their passions, so then they will be more motivated. If these don't work, you can always go find a cattle prod...

WE have been doing what we can for almost a year and are just getting some traction. The thing that makes the most sense to us - and gets us the most recognition - then more kids wanting to help us , we do what will make a difference for our passion/our project as often as we can. WE get out in the community and do it again and again and always bring something to hand to other people that says our mission, how to contact us and a way we need help. You can do it 100 times and ge tno response then on 101 you might reach just the right person. What's your passion, your dream of what you want to change? If you open up the pdf files that are attached to each of these pieces, you'll find way more crazy colors and graphics...some of them can be used as templates for your own Venture. Keep the comments coming! Our ears are always open and we'd love to hear how to make this an exceptional space.

Hi everyone -
One of my first questions is: In order to start up a Youth Venture you need to have a team right? Well how many people do you need to qualify as a team?
I am trying to organize in my mind how to launch - I have an adult ally and references and I know I could accomplish the goals that I have in mind with one or two other people but I wanted to check in about the number thing.

I have a quick question...Do these "venture plan" things include international projects? I'm not sure I'm in the right place, I don't plan on having much of a team, and it wouldn't really be a community action plan, but it is an idea focusing on youth empowerment, and I need support to do service learning abroad. I'm not really sure I understand the point of this site, I'd appreciate it if someone could explain it to me.

Hi, I just wanted to enter a quick answer to zvallaro-
A couple of people and an Ally is just right for starting a Venture Team. The core of most Venture Teams is 3-5 people. Just remember that once you start turning your dreams into action, you might need to ask a few more people for help :). These will be your volunteers- friends, family, community members- that you have told about your project and who are eager to help when the Team needs a few extra people to run events, help raise funds, drive you to a show, or connect you with resources or classes to learn more about the focus of your Venture Team.
So I guess my point is- get started!!

This answer to Sarah Elizabeth is stolen from a fellow YV VISTA (staff) persons advice, but I just wanted to post it here to: "to answer your question, it really depends on your venture idea and whether it is a sustainable venture project. Some of our teams operate in the US and help other countries. For instance, NETwork Against Malaria is raising money to purchase mosquito nets in Uganda.
As far as service learning abroad, have you heard about Live It! Adventures. Here is a link to a forum about it:

I would add to that the possibility of forming a Venture Team after you return from your service learning abroad- you will probably have a lot to share at that point! I know of a Team in Minneapolis that started a student run class at their local college to discuss activism. All the members had service oriented study abroad experiences prior to starting the class and realized that they had much to teach and learn from each other.

well my group consists of my best friends. i mean i grew up with these people, we know each other inside out and we're so open with each other. each comment and or suggestion is taken into consideration and we don't ignore each other's request and work on accomplishing it and making it better. I'm so excited, i want to start my venture but i still need to finish the paper work.
i know we'll work out b/cuz all of us are so into it and we cant wait to start.

ok so my non-profit is going to be led by students from 8th to senior year college and it will help and assist orphans and starving children in Africa by providind better quality of life on any base, it will also provids fund in form of scholarship to African students that go to school in the USA, and start my account at the yuth venture because 1 of my counselor told me that i could get funds for the youth venture org.

Well folks - this is big stuff. Hope yo'all ready. I do strongly believe that the youth in 3rd world countries need to be self reliant - and what a better way than to do business that requires no inventory, employees or those other nasty things. am talking about forex trading folks - all that is needed is a market maker a/c,. computer and relevant training + yes.. brains. Holla at me if interested.

Right now my project is being done by my self. Im not sure how to start it off, but It could be a success! One single person is better then 50 lazy people that can never help. I realy hope I can get my project to get off its feet and land perfectly I dont want it to die out in a couple of weeks.
