About Us
Student-produced social justice and volunteerism magaizine
OneWorld is unique because of the location of our school and the young audience we serve. Our school, Saint Louis University, is located in the heart of Saint Louis. The social issues of large cities like poverty, healthcare, immigration, crime, malnutrition, lead poisioning, and homelessness literally surround our campus. Our magazine’s sole purpose is to address prejudices and educate our community about social justice in Saint Louis and around the world. We feature places like Catholic Worker Houses, urban farms, Nurses for Newborns, and refugee centers near our school where the work of SLU students is needed. We address important urban issues that many other isolated campus are not exposed to. With our articles, interviews, and artwork, we hope to confront barriers of ignorance and indifference, inspiring action and dialogue in our student body so that our students will not spend their years at SLU isolated on our campus, but instead engaged in our larger community.
