For Youth:

  • The best way to get involved is to contact us, and we'll work together to figure out the best way for you to get started. Don't feel like you have to have an idea to reach out to us. Just let us know you're interested and we'll go from there. And if you have an idea, fantastic!
  • Spend some time exploring the rest of GenV and looking at some of the teams that are already active in the community. Also, be sure to check out our videos on YouTube and what teams are up to on our campaigns site.
  • Start writing down ideas whenever they strike! You never know when inspiration might hit... just make sure you remember it!

For Adults:

There are many ways to get involved with Youth Venture San Francisco Bay Area, and we are always open to exploring opportunities that most fit your interests and experiences. Just contact us to get started! Here are some ways that people have been involved in the past:
  • Ally: One way to get involved is to be an Ally, or non-controlling mentor, for a Venture team. Allies work closely with a group of youth as they embark upon their journey to create social change. We are actively looking for Allies of all experiences, backgrounds, and interests to get involved.
  • Technical Allies: Provide specialized advice, based upon experience and expertise, to help better support Venture Teams as they launch their own social ventures. This can be entirely flexible, just answering e-mails or calls as they come up.
  • Curriculum Support: As part of our expanding support for Venture teams, we are creating the Grow Your Venture series, which are specialized workshops to teach specific skills in more depth to existing teams. Some examples have included marketing and brand management, forming partnerships, and event planning. If you have a particular area of expertise, we would love help in designing and/or presenting that topic to youth!
  • Community Panelist: Volunteer to evaluate young people’s socially-benefiting Venture ideas. We hold panels both over the phone and in-person. Time commitment ranges between 2-4 hours.
  • Administrative Support: Help us with the day-to-day logistics of supporting young Changemakers. A variety of tasks and responsibilities would be incredibly useful to us.

For Partner Organizations and Schools:

Youth Venture San Francisco Bay Area is always looking for new ways to partner with schools and organizations in order to encourage youth to be Changemakers in their community. We do presentations to groups of youth and work individually with youth who are developing Ventures. If your organization is interested in setting up a partnership meeting to learn more about opportunities to get involved with Youth Venture, please contact us.
