Nike and Youth Venture believe in the power of sport to improve communities around the world. The partnership draws upon Nike’s global presence in sports and athletics, along with Youth Venture’s extensive network of young social entrepreneurs in 17 countries. Through collaborative efforts, Nike and Youth Venture plan to mobilize a generation of young changemakers to make an impact in their communities through sport. With this partnership young people will leverage sport to launch their own youth-led, sustainable social Ventures. In New York, Johannesburg, and São Paulo Youth Venture and Nike are working together to deliver workshops to hundreds of youth to teach leadership and teamwork through sport and help them to launch their own sustainable sports related Ventures.
Along with Youth Venture, US Nike retail “Athletes” (employees) will begin engaging thousands of youth in their local communities through sport and social change. Through this process each store will begin to launch Youth Venture teams built on the biggest and best ideas that youth generate to improve their community through sport. Across the country:
