Fall Extravaganza!
Sharing a Love of Reading Across the Nation!
From California to Rhode Island!
This Fall marked a big change in our program- Kyle left for Rhode Island for college while Brady stayed in California. We decided to have a Fall Extravaganza to Celebrate the Joy of Reading Across the Nation! We invited volunteers to join us in a day of reading across the country- we had teens, librarians, mayors, fire chiefs, police officers, great readers, Mother Goose and even Captain Jack Sparrow at events in capitol cities along the route from California to Rhode Island. This was a great way to spread the joy of reading and expand our program nationally. To see more about the event please visit http://www.myownbook.net/fallextravaganza2008.html
WE HAD READERS IN THE FOLLOWING CITIES
Sacramento, California
Carson City Nevada
Salt Lake City, Utah
Denver, Colorado
Topeka, Kansas
Jefferson City, Missouri
Springfield, Illinois
Indianapolis, Indiana
Columbus, Ohio
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
Hartford, Connecticut
Providence, Rhode Island
We supplied books and bookplates to readers. It was a great event!
