If I ever watch "Lust, Caution", I'll let you know! Have you seen it? What'd you think of it? I don't think I've watched any of Ho-sun Chan's movies yet. Is there one you'd recommend? I thought about watching "Ru Guo Ai", but I don't want to buy it unless I know it's good. :-$

I'm guessing you're a fan of Confucian literature? I had to take a seminar on Confucianism in Modern China my last semester in college. Good class, but I am on my break from Confucian texts or essays about Confucianism. Don't know when I'll pick up another book about Confucianism.... :-$

As for memorizing Chinese characters, I don't envy you there. Recognition is easy... it's recalling that's brutal. Anyway, keep me posted on EUforIA! ^_^

Hey! Just movies or do you also get into Chinese series? The only Chinese movies that I've been able to really enjoy are the early works of Zhang Yimou and some of Wong Kar-wai's works. I really want to see Ang Lee's "Lust, Caution" but I'm extremely hesitant because of it's NC-17 rating. :-$ To answer your question, I speak Chao Zhou (a Min-nan dialect) and Mandarin Chinese (a bit rusty now that I don't practice as often as I should). If you ever need any help with Mandarin, I'll be happy to help! We have a few other fluent Mandarin speakers on this site too. Try contacting James, for instance. His venture team works with youth in rural China.

As for getting Youth Venture seed funding, the real issue is we don't have an office in Switzerland. The age limit is 20 in the US, but it's actually 24 in all other countries. What I recommend is that you apply for seed funding from Peace Child and contact Marina, the YV staff in London. She is currently coordinating events for a summer academy for young social entrepreneurs in Europe. That might be something you and/or your team might be interested in participating in. She might also know of funding opportunities specific to Europeans that I don't know of. If I come across other funding opportunities, I'll definitely let you know. In the meantime, please create a team profile for EUforIA. It's a great way to advertise for EUforIA on this site and recruit more participants. ^_^
