Having a Book of Your Own = Happiness
Image
Most of the children we serve have never had the pleasure of owning their very own book before. We set our standards high- we only distribute books that are new. They have to feel, smell, and look perfect. By doing this we are enhancing the experience of having your own book and making reading more important. The children love the idea of having their very own BRAND NEW book. Ownership is part of the key to making reading fun.
My Own Book- Sharing the Joy of Reading
Hi:
We've got a lot going on with our venture right now. Here is some of our big news:
-our Fall into Reading Night, made possible by a grant from Target, was a huge success- our best event ever!
-the families in the Fairfield Suisun School District donated over 1,800 books through a district wide book drive
-Kyle spoke on WJMF 88.7 radio station about running a non-profit organization
-our next event is 12/17 at Bransford Elementary. We'll be reading & distributing books

Turining pain into music
Its interesting how one event in your life can change your outlook on life, how one action results in a chain reaction of other events that could change the future. I just had one of those weekends. It wan the type of weekend in which traumatic event occurred that inspired 4 rather good songs, including my first rap, and maybe more if given time. Its like the guy that accidentally scratched his record and ended up liking the sound and from there scratching became a new thing that ended up paving the way for hip hop/ break music.
