Bio

Meghan is an Associate in the Online Leadership Program at Global Kids, currently working on The D.I.D.I. Initiative in Teen Second Life with Youth Venture.
She holds a BA in Computer Science from Colgate University and a MS in Teaching from SUNY Cortland. Before studying at Cortland, Meghan spent two years at SUNY Stony Brook studying in the Technological Systems Management program, where she concentrated on Educational Technology. Before joining Global Kids, Meghan spent many years training professionals in the use of computer software and technology. Most recently she worked as an International Liaison for Linden Lab’s virtual world Second Life. In Second Life she worked as a frontline employee in Teen Second Life, organizing and leading teen mentors, assisting residents with both technical and social problems, and orienting new arrivals. She is a proponent for the use of virtual worlds and other forms of new media in education and youth development. In her free time, Meghan enjoys playing video games, cooking, reading, and is currently searching for an amateur astronomy club in her area.
