Branford High School's Environmental Club

The BHS Green Scene's mission currently is to make sure that all potential recyclables at their school are taken care of appropriately and in an environmentally friendly way. They have conquered several hurdles in getting their white and colored office paper handled properly. They are also beginning to assume responsibility for other recyclables such as bottles and cans for which they've been told that they will recieve any money that is made from the recycling of the cans.
Another activity that they take part in is bug-testing. They go to local rivers and streams and take samples of the water to analyze what bugs are found in the water. By finding what bugs are in the water, they are able to figure out how polluted the water is. After they find this information, they report it to the State of Connecticut.
