Youth Venture’s New England regional office is located in Concord, New Hampshire and we pride ourselves in doing our best to assist Venturers and all young changemakers in every way we can. We serve New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut and Rhode Island.

The 2008 Staples Youth Social Entrepreneurship Competition ended with a bang on November 20th! Representatives from five remarkable teams, three from the United States and two from France, converged at Staples headquarters in Boston, MA.

The grand prize, awarded by Staples COO Mike Miles, went to a New England Team! Ben from Gardens for Health International was awarded $5000 worth of Staples products. Based in Providence, RI, this Venture provides technical support and agricultural inputs to HIV infected farmers in Rwanda, helping them to grow the nutrient rich food necessary to combat the disease.

Second place went to Nicolas and Géraud of Brigade de la Faim (The Hunger Brigade) of Paris, France. The Venture works to provide the homeless with unsold bread from the city’s many boulangeries (bakeries). Ultimately, Nicolas and Géraud hope to foster greater empathy between the city’s youth and its population of underprivileged.
