Children from more fortunate schools throughout our school district are hosting a district wide bookdrive to support My Own Book. Last time we did this the kids collected 2,500 books!
This is a great way to unite kids in helping other kids.

It also aim at recorgnising adults/Institution/Organizations who are working towards ensuring that young people are seen as creative partners in nation building.
This award also would recorgnise any young people in the world who have craeted a great inpact in his/her community and country and person who have serve as a great change maker.

My Own Book is hosting a Gingerbread House Display and Auction. Teen volunteers will be on hand at Bransford Elementary School's holiday musical performance evening to read and let the children pick out books. We picked this evening because we wanted the entire family on hand to see that reading is fun! We are also letting each child enter our drawing for one of five FIVE FOOT TALL teddy bears complete with a teddy bear book.
In addition, we've teamed up with Hi 4-H to have crafts and cookies on hand for the families. This should help make the event great!
