Bio
Many things that I've experience in my community led me to want to make an impact on other people. As I completed middle school I realized that substance abuse and other destructive behaviors was a serious problem. Not only in my community, but also globally. Wanting to make a change I joined the SADD chapter at Cousino High School. I became trustee of the SADD board and later secretary. Then I had the opportunity to work with middle school students at Carter Middle School in a STAND chapter.
This later led me to become involved with STAND SAB. Through STAND I was able to mentor middle school students. This gave me great insight on how this world is seen through a middle school student’s point of view, and how we can empower the youth of today to become successful leaders tomorrow. Mentoring middle school students is important to me because we need to give youth the foundation of making positive decisions at a young age so they are less vulnerable to making harmful decisions. Aside from organizations I like to read novels and write short stories. I enjoy working with children and spending time with my family. Youth Empowerment is the most important interest area for me because I strongly believe and know that it affects our communities today and in the future.
