Bio
Nadia is a 23 year-old "old soul" from Brooklyn, New York. In 1994, at age eleven, she founded The Victorian Hands Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that provides youth voluntary assistance and companionship to the elders of all communities. The organization was named in dedication to the life of her late aunt Victoria. T.V.H.F strives to provide a support system (through various communication efforts) for the elderly who are never visited by their family, and for those without family. Nadia represents T.V.H.F. as the President & Founder.
She has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, The NY Daily News and College Bound Magazine. She has also been interviewed on TV stations like NY1, New12 and on radio stations such as XM Radio in Washington D.C and WBAI in New York.
In 2002, Nadia was invited to the White House for a conference on volunteerism with John Bridgeland, the former head of Freedom Corps and White House staff. That same year, Nadia co-starred in a public service announcement that reached over 10,000 viewers in movie theaters nationwide and on cable television and was recognized as the 2002 Youth Leader of the Year by New Light Leadership Coalition, Inc.
Nadia has also received several awards: Champions In the Community Award, The Fleet Youth Entrepreneur Award, The Spirit of Hope Award, The Shining Star Award, The Osborn Elliot Community Leadership Award and the Bank of America Local Hero Award.
