Hey there! Sorry for the belated response. Got caught up in a couple GenV projects. To change the background, you have to google search background codes (ie. myspace background generators). Most myspace background codes work on GenV.net. Once you find the one you like, just copy and paste that into your "Other Goals" and hit submit. That should do the trick. I'd contact totem if you have specific formatting questions. He has a blog just for that! ^_^

To answer your second question, you can find users who share your passion by searching browse members and narrowing it down by interests. To add a buddy, go to the profile and click "Add to to my buddy list" next to their profile pic. If they accept your invite, then they will appear in your buddy list. Also, try joining interest groups. Let me know if you have any additional questions.
