Bio
I am a junior math major at Bryn Mawr College, originally from Alexandria, Virginia.
After the Virginia Tech tragedy last April, I felt completely shattered and had to do something to bring college students together to stand as one unit, so I started the Virginia Tech Solidarity Project.
I designed a shirt with the logos of 33 colleges and universities all across Pennsylvania and we sold 2,800 of these shirts in Pennsylvania alone. Our goal is to establish a $10,000 scholarship in the name of each of the 32 victims by April 16, 2008. In remembering the victims, we seek to condemn violence on campus, promote education, and build a national body of charity inclined-college students. To reach our goal, we are extending the campaign into a national movement, selling a grand total of 50,000 shirts in colleges and universities all across the nation. We only need to sell 1/3 rd of what was sold in Pennsylvania in each of the remaining 49 states in order to easily reach and exceed the goal.
$10 at a time, we plan to raise $320,000. Please let me know if you would like to sell shirts at your school!
