Bio
I work at Earth Island Institute as Program Director for the New Leaders Initiative and Brower Youth Awards. These programs honor young environmental leaders in North America for their outstanding activism and achievements. We're partnering with Youth Venture on the Youth Venture - Lorax Challenge. I'm excited to join your network; I have nearly ten years of experience working with student networks on national and international environmental campaigns, including campaigns to stop old growth logging, halt destructive oil and gas investments, and to reform the U.S. auto industry. When I'm not working on environmental initiatives, I spend lots of time outdoors cycling and as a new guide for Environmental Traveling Companions, a non-profit that facilitates kayaking trips for low-income youth and folks with disabilities.
