Bio
Richards Rwanda is a group of young girls helping to increase education for girls in Rwanda. Richard Kananga was the inspiration to start Richard's Rwanda. Richard came to Seattle and told Jessicas family about his country and what occurred in 1994. The Rwandan genocide killed almost one million people. Many children lost their family members and are now the head of their households. When Richard told me these stories I really wanted to help those girls. So Jessica asked her peers about joining her with helping girls in Rwanda and about ten of us got together and talked about what they could do. For the past couple of years they have been raising money and awareness. We have been paying for their school fees, lunch, materials and uniforms and shoes. Our focus is to really support educational opportunities for Rwandan girls. We have raised over 15,000 dollars and we hope to receive this grant from best buy so we can continue to dream big and complete our goals which are : Fundraising, face to face exchange and expanding.
Goals
- I launched a venture more than a year ago and want help to keep it going and growing
