Bio

I'm in the process of building a small children's home in Nepal for orphaned street children. I've been volunteering in an orphanage in India for the past two years. After a trip to Nepal about a year ago I decided to try to build a project of my own. The home will serve as a safe haven for ex-child military soldiers, child prostitues, misplaced, orphaned and street children in Nepal. We will also aim at sponsoring child laborers within the community to get themm off the streets and into school. In the future I hope to create medical camps in remote villages, a vocational training center, and school for underprivelaged children.

Goals

  • I launched a venture in the last 12 months and could use help

Interests

Children, Community Development, Cultural Awareness, Education, Environment, Literacy, Peace and Non-Violence, Poverty, Youth Empowerment

Hi Maggie! I haven't heard from you in a while. How are things with your orphanage in Nepal? I thought you might be interested in contacting SymbriFachello. SymbriFachello is interested in finding an orphanage to partner with. :-D Keep us posted!

Hey! Sorry it’s taken me a while to get back to you but it was great to get your message. The MET is an amazing system of schools that tailor the curriculum to each individual student, the kids learn about things they are interested in and participate in internships that let them explore their passions, it’s great. I would love to hear more about the home you’re creating and how it all came about. I imagine that it would take a great deal of courage to commit to such a project, I’d love to support your group in any way that I can. What have been some of your greatest challenges in starting the home? Some of the rewards? Sorry if I’m asking a lot of questions but I’m really interested in what you’re doing, I think it’s great. Be well.
