Bio
Hey everyone! My name is Kelsey Sullivan, I'm 16 years old and I will be a junior this year at E.O. Smith HIgh school in Storrs, CT. In my freshmen year, two of my friends (Jessie Mehrhoff and Lindsay Haythorne) and I started our venture, Green Teens U.S.A. The three of us were very concerned about the climate crisis threatening our world's future, and we wanted to do our part by making our local community more "green." We started out by selling cloth shopping bags at community events and at local businesses. Soon other students who shared our interests joined, and Green Teens expanded to include activities such as planting trees in a local park and hosting a CFL lightbulb exchange at a local community center. This year, we want to take Green Teens even further. We want to reach out to more students in our high school, and we want to take on larger projects. For example, we are hoping to replace some of the plastic cutlery in our school cafeteria with reusable flatware. I am very excited to see Green Teens grow, and I am excited for even bigger, more ambitious projects!!
Goals
- I have started a venture and want to share insights
- I'm very excited with what Green Teens has already accomplished, and I'm very proud to have been a part of it. Goals for the future include finding new ways to promote the conservation of energy and resources. If you have any ideas you would like to share, please contact me!
