Graduated with high honors from Rutgers University where I majored in English Literature and then spent a year in northern rural Japan teaching English to kids aged anywhere from 5 to 16 (and one exceptional 3 year old). I'm spending this year as a VISTA for Youth Venture and intend to go to graduate school next year and (six years or so in the future) eventually get a PhD.

In the present, I'm in charge of the Virtual Ventures that come here to the New York Tri-State & Virtual branch. I live in Jersey City and work with some of the youth from there as well.

Hey I'm not sure if you visited but I go to McNair (sorry for the late reply, I've been super busy) and Dr. Solberg has been promoting YV for a while now. I'm starting up The Awakening Project (which sadly is the name of a couple other things) which advocates suicide awareness and prevention. We've got the Preparing for the Action Plan form completed, and we've started on our actual application, but I'm having difficulty coming up with a specific financial plan. We have ideas on how we will fundraise and whatnot, but the specificity of it is driving me crazy. Haha. Anyhow, I won't be able to attend the meeting on the 17th, BUT my VP is going to, so hopefully we can get some things done there.

Hey! I read in a post that you said we have a YV theme song. Is there a way for you to have it uploaded into one of our regional offices, like the NY office? :-D Or if you have a video clipping of him singing it put it in the NY office regional page. :-D Just a thought. ^_^
