Bio

My name is Melissa aka Chez. I'm a Junior at the Met School in Providence.
Thanks to Summer Search Boston, this summer I'm heading to the Himalayas in North India for 2 in a half months to film a documentary! i only have one problem, i dont have my own video camera.
Right now i'm an intern at the RI Public Broadcasting Station A.K.A PBS. My responsibility there is to direct the shows that are going to be aired throughout the week. I also edit and develope PROMOS[promotions]. Currently, I'm producing my own television show, called "CHEZ'S VIEW" .
my other internship is at Harken Youth Productions, working on a documentary about violence.
i'm taking a film class at RISD [rhode island school of design] working on a independent documentary about epidemics, teen pregnancy, and global issues.
And last but not least im working on a movie with PLAFF [providence latin film festival] developing scripts, story boards, sound tracks etc..
I LOVE MAKING FILMS AS U SEE IT'S MY BIGGEST PASSION. MY GOAL IN LIFE IS TO BECOME A FILM MAKER/DIRECTOR AND MAYBE DO A COLLABORATION WITH MY FAVORITE FILM MAKER, SPIKE LEE. BUT IN THE MEAN TIME, IM MAKING MY WAY TO THE TOP

Hey Chez, my name is grecia. currently my friends and i got approved for our idea only one problem we don't have much filmaking experience. basically we plan to create documentaries that will help people learn about not so popular problems that occuring in the world. Do i explain myself ok? i just was wondering if you have any tips on where to get some information on filmaking. I would really appreciate your response thanks

Hi Chez!! Welcome to GenV.net! :-) Sounds like you have a lot of experience in filmmaking! How did you get started? Who is Spike Lee? I'm not very familiar with film makers... :-( Anyway, here is a link to resources that may help you get started:
