Bio

Hey! My name is Eyal. I made my name "barefoot" because, well, that's the reason I'm here.

I, along with fellow editors Nick, Friedemann, Tim, and Anna, helped found Barefoot Magazine, an international student magazine with writers from all over the globe. We started in May, 2007 and are printing our first test issue in August, 2007. We will then sell our first magazine issue in high schools throughout Germany and the USA in October, 2007.

Both student-produced and student-read, Barefoot has teenage writers and editors work together to create a magazine for high school students, focusing on the every-day stories and articles of those anywhere from Chicago to Paris to Dubai.

Our goal is to expand the typical niche of a high-school WRITER from his or her school newspaper or hometown press, and gain access to a larger-scale media. At the same time, we allow READERS to expand off of local media and hometown events, and read about international affairs. We seek writers our own age – typically between 14 and 19. Everyone—organizers, editors, and writers—contribute voluntarily and without pay.

The various sections, including a short news area from each local region the magazine is distributed in, provides feedback to readers from writers over 1500 miles away.

If you're interested in writing, donating, buying ads, or otherwise learning/contributing in any way, please contact us at barefootinternational@gmail.com

Our current website is www.barefoot.de.tl, so feel free to check it out! We will be moving to a new domain soon.

Goals

  • I need help completing Youth Venture’s action plan
  • I need help passing Youth Venture’s selection panel
  • I launched a venture in the last 12 months and could use help
  • Our mission: to create a diverse media outlet for high school teenagers like us. We have ONLY teenage editors, contributors, and organizers that allow us to spread personal stories and international media to young adults our age. - Meet monetary needs in printing 2000 copies of the magazine to be distributed in Germany and the USA ($2,500) - Seek advertisers targeting teen readers - Invite writers from all over the globe to contribute. If interested, email barefootinternational@gmail.com - Receive starting grants totaling at least $1,750 (from the USA and Germany), allowing our magazine to be comfortably self-sustaining.

Artist Connect: Planning For Better tomorrow

Greetings from United Arts Society!!!

There is a wide range of art forms that most of us aren’t aware of. The realization of the need to bridge this gap has led us to found the United Arts Society. Through this society, we plan to fulfill a noble dream – a dream where everyone is educated about the various forms of art and is also provided every opportunity to further their interests in any chosen field.
UAS has networked with a huge number of artists from various fields of art who have come together to develop a forum which aims to restore, preserve and nurture art. The goal of this initiative is to ensure primary education in art and to revitalize its current state, under professional guidance.
UAS is sensitive towards the condition of art and artists. With our constant market study and strategic approach we are trying to find new work avenues and opportunities for artists in areas of performing, visual and fine arts so that they can continue to work in art field with respect and glory. We call this initiative UNARSO.
We would like to get associated with artists and art organizations to provide a plethora of opportunities, i.e. managing assignments, organizing events, assistance and facilitating. We are looking forward to learning from your experiences and working with you.
We would love to share our vision and dreams with you. Please let us know if it would be possible for you to meet us in our OPEN FORUM MEETINGS happening every Sunday’s at 10am at Time out Café, 5th floor, Sona Towers , #71, Millers Road .
Kindly fill the following form so that you name could be updated in our Inter-National database on our Artist Connect Portal.

Hey, could you tell me more about your the name Barefoot? I grew up in North Dakota and ran barefoot all day; now I'm in the city, but keep up my ways. The power of barefoot is amazing- I talk to people because of it, feel the real ground, and feel more connected with issues in my neighborhood (you would too if the beer bottle glass was stuck in your toes!). Why did you guys choose barefoot?
