Bio

Hi, i'm Amanda born in Boston grew up in upstate New York. I'm hardcore into volunteering. For the past three years I have been involved with Schenectady's Promise-the Alliance for youth. Schenectady's Promise works to provide all youth within Schenectady County a healthy start, opportunities to serve, caring adults, marketable skills and safe places. I've served on and was the youth co-chair of the leadership team, chaired the National youth service day committee for two yrs, served on the youth commission to distribute 20,000 dollars to non-for-profits, served on the opportunities to serve action team and done a bunch of other stuff. Through a grant from Youth Service America to set up a youth elder match program. I also work at Double H Ranch which is a camp for kids with critical illnesses and volunteered with the bleeding disorders association of Northeastern New York. I love working with kids, the medical field and using youth empowerment to help work to solve social issues on a locally.

Goals

I want to help out a venture
I launched a venture more than a year ago and want help to keep it going and growing
I have my venture matching teens to senior citizens, but when i graduate this year I'm moving from Schenectady County to Burlington VT. So I guess I'm looking to continue my venture from afar, think about starting a new one, looking for things in Burlington to get involved with and/or helping another venture out. I'm all over the place, but the future is ripe with possibilities.
