Bio

My name is Nathan Kosky, and I am a student at Northwestern University, (which is just north of Chicago!)

I love watching football, as I am originally from Green Bay, WI, so the Packers are a way of life. I also enjoy playing soccer, basketball, tennis, racquetball, going for bike rides, roller blading, and running! I love music of all varieties, and I am not picky about my movie selection either. I am a pretty laid back, go with the flow kind of person. I love chilling with friends, meeting new people, and learning from those around me.

I am currently interning at Open Books, which is a non-profit bookstore and literacy organization for the greater Chicago area. Open Books collects donated books, and them sells them in their bookstore to raise money for their reading programs through the city. They are relatively new as an organization, however, they are growing by the day, and it is amazing to be apart of such a young and ambitious team!

Guestbook

Hello!

My Name is Nathan Kosky, and I am teaming up with Prachi Murarka to start a non-profit coffee shop near our school, Northwestern University. Northwestern students are in need of a late study/social space; this market is currently monopolized by a 24 hour Burger King. Also, there are college students interested in teaching, but have not yet gained teaching experience, and there are enrichment programs set up for Evanston youth middle school-aged or younger, but once they enter high school, they are left to fend for themselves.

Our goal is to bring these two groups of students together, to create a community of activity and interaction between high school and college students. As a result of these newly formed healthy and positive relationships, high school students who had not previously considered college, will be more likely to apply, as they now will have a support system around them that has experienced the difficult application process, and can offer guidance and insight along the way.
