Youth Venture

Visual Arts and Music for Society (VAMS) International is a non-profit that is dedicated to utilizing and developing the talents of high school students to assist those in society who are often forgotten and in need.

Consisting of a dynamic and diverse group of teenage volunteers, our many chapters seek to assist the fight against depression, cancer, poverty, and other disabilities. Regularly, each VAMS club prepares and hosts events at various institutions such as hospitals, foster care centers, and convalescence homes. These student-organized events occur about once every one or two months and consist of orchestral performances, choral selections, and musical skits. In addition, VAMS members interact with the patients by chatting, craft making, and dancing with them. In preparation, members create cards and small gifts, bake cookies and cake, and rehearse their music. VAMS volunteers also seek to educate individuals and communities about the disorders and disabilities their outreach groups suffer from, thus increasing awareness about these serious conditions.

VAMS creates community partnerships and raises money to fund these promising outreach projects and events. In essence, as a grassroots organization, we seek to create imaginative and low cost ways to raise money, celebrate lives, and reach out to communities. We follow our goal as, one by one, we uplift and cheer someone in need who feels "forgotten."
