Youth Venture

The purpose of the Pro Justice Work team is to bring awareness of the systematic oppressions in our world today.

Pro Justice discusses racism, sexism, classism and imperialism as a way for participants to realize where they fit in as a target or an agent, and how they can become allies for the targets of oppression. The Pro Justice Work team hopes to inspire youth to become the change they wish to see in the world. Last year we (Emma and Josef) were two of those facilitators. We have gained knowledge on these issues as well as an understanding of how each issue should be approached during facilitation. That knowledge and understanding that we gained was taught to us by adult leaders from a leadership program. This year we want to achieve being leaders for next years facilitators. We want to take the leadership role and responsibility which was previously held by adult staff and in the future, we want those facilitators to become youth leaders themselves and set up a system of leadership to have Youth teaching Youth for Pro Justice forever.
