Welcome to the Beginning of an End!!

It is the beginning of an end in Chillicothe, Ohio. Chillicothe Gay-Straight Alliance, an organization based at Chillicothe High School as an unofficial club, has set out to end Homophobia and Intolerance in their community. The organization is powered by students who know what intolerance is doing to the community; students who can feel the pressure building; students who know that a change is in the process and who want to be a part of this change.

Chillicothe Gay-Straight Alliance was officially given Venture Team status on Monday November 24th. It had been known as an unofficial school club Chillicothe High School for 6 months until this day. The options of this organization were then multiplied. They now have a place in society: a Venture, Seed-Funding and access to a network of young changemakers from all over the world. They are now have the option to break away from the boundaries of their school, should the need arise, and base their Venture elsewhere. They now have the tools to guide them through various phases of their venture. They now have the ability to become a well needed resource for their community.

Youth Venture has given Chillicothe Gay-Straight Alliance what it needs to make today the beginning of an end for Homophobia, Intolerance and other injustices that flow by without a thought from today's society. Today is the day.

Take a Stand

Gay is not a Synonym,
Fag is not a name,
Queer is not a label,
And this is not a game.

People do get hurt,
They die every day,
And it only gets worse,
When you turn away.

Maybe you're afraid,
Because someone is diverse,
And you think by helping them,
You'll catch some kind of curse.

It's not okay to let it go,
And forget what you can see.
In the end everyone will know,
The truth you wouldn't set free.

So do your part and stop the hate,
The power's in your hand.
Respect and love will come your way,
If you take a stand.
