Build-A-School Challenge

Hey Everyone!!

Wanted to let you all know about a new partnership YV has with Key Club International and Building Tomorrow!! Tell your Key Club about it!! :-)

Best,
Jenny

Key Club International, Building Tomorrow and Youth Venture are teaming up to change the world!

What can your school's Key Club chapter do with $1,000 to raise funds and awareness for vulnerable children in sub-Saharan Africa?

We're proud to announce the Build-A-School Challenge, in partnership with Key Club International.

Your Key Club chapter could get up to $1,000 seed money from Ashoka's Youth Venture to help you raise money and awareness for vulnerable children in sub-Saharan Africa.

What would you do with $1,000?

Dream up something great, submit your plan, and if approved by a Youth Venture panel, your team will get seed money to launch your venture: a project you'd work on throughout the year to creatively generate funds and other forms of support -- on an ongoing basis -- for a new Building Tomorrow School in sub-Saharan Africa. Use the money to raise more money and to educate and involve people in your high school and your community.

The choice is yours. Your venture could be small or huge: a monthly car-wash, an art class for kids, an annual African festival for your entire town -- or anything else you can dream up, plan for, and do!

You have the power to change the world, one school at a time.

What Makes a Good Mentor?

Mentoring is on the rise in America. Mentors have to rise a fine line - making sure that their mentees don't depend on them and at the same time, providing enough support. What make a good mentor? What mentors have you had and what made them good...or bad?
