Newness!!!!

So recently I got elected to the president of the “not in our School “ organization at Nashua high school south. not in our school takes issues and events that are prevalent in a pad way and does whatever it can to either inform the public or stop it to make sure its “not in our school”. We have dealt with Darfur, Aids, bullying and this year im looking forward to using Rhythm Rhymes Records and Not in Our school to do something bigg! One idea that I am having is holding a Charity Palooozza week or a Nashua cares week or something. And having a hip hop benefit especially with dancers and food and dancers and something like the one voice convert only with more dance and food and something bigger. Last year I had so much fun with the concert and we raised a whole lot of money for the Global und to deal with AIDs, Malaria and TB. This year I want to support young dancers and musicians while using that to support UNICEF!!!!! Well, that’s all for now, and I will give details soon.

NEW STUFF

well, im now just working on 3 new projects. they are all so different and target different parts of my community and world and interest. one thing is the hip hop class/team that i am teaching at Nashua high school south. the kids are amazing and they always want to learn and its cool to see them use their talents for something good. the message i want to convey with the dances are ones of you dont have to be provocative to be entertaining. i want every dance to make people think. i love dance and i want people to feel that love in our teams. the kids come form all back ground and some of them have terrible stories but when theyre dancing its like everything goes away and this incredible light shines.

the other project im workin on is a potential vegas night. i want to have a little poker tournament and to also have stuff like take your picture with Elvis and have local musicians perform. its a cool way to get exposure and i might also have some sort of culture fest. i want to have tons of food and a DJ. and lucky for my i know people with connections so hopefully thins will work out with that. i dont want to make the poker game one about money but for fake money , although the winner may get a prize. i am planning on charging people at the door one fee for all the crazy stuff that there will be to do. they get a game of poker, live entertainment and tons of food and chances for prizes. i want to use the money to benefit a local charity like the food pantry/ soup kitchen, some music scholarship maybe? or even something with the hurricanes. this benefit will hopefully be in November.

another project is the December masquerade. i am teaming up with my schools challenge day team. to plan a dance. its gonna be cool because the money goes to benefit the challenge day program which has reduced violence in our school greatly. i remember the weeks were we hade 5-10 fights and now things have changed. our school is now so accepting and such a nice and safe place to be so i think thats gonna be cool.

FINALLY....lol.... i have the concert which was supposed to be in sept. but has been pushed to december. it will be a dance benefit and its gonna be awesome!

ONE VOICE CONCERT june10 @ NaSHua High School South

I have never been more tired or more anxious in my life. For the past month I have given up everything I love and care fore, all for one thing, my ONE VOICe concert. With all the complications that have happened I have felt like I was ready to quite or just give up. But in my life that hasn’t ever been an option. I remember how easy everything seemed on paper and that’s when things got bad. First thing was that every one was busy and that people weren’t feeling well. Another thing was that bands were very flaky and it was hard to fit in school, work, not feeling well, my own personal issues, and planning a concert. But now its only a few days till the concert and I am more exited than I have ever been for anything! This concert is going to save lives, the money that I get form it will go to people that actually need it and deserve it. Im so exited for all the bands that are volunteering and all the teachers that are chaperoning and I am so exited to see my hard work pay off. Though out our whole venture experience I have never been more exited. I feel like this thing will change someone and that this thing will so something actually important. I know how hard I worked for this and all the house I put into it and I can’t actually wait for it. I have spent the past week meeting with bands, teachers, students and other people and now its just about time for the show.

open eyes

this week i was reminded why exactly why i am doing what i was doing, why joe and i are working on creating music that sends a positive message. why our school needs music that will break the mold and that will bond people and bring cultures together. i have faces racism in the past and this year it has been to much. i seen the need for a change and i am gonna put even more effort in trying to end it all. we are all people and we should all do our best in working together for the greater cause.
