Chair Advocates was among one of the recipients of the Rediscover Your Heart Awards!

We will receive $2,500 towards our project at the end of July. The grant money will be used to improve our mentoring and advocacy services. This also means more wishes will be granted :)

Third Interview

Star name: Igor Bozinovski
Age: 29
Location: Skopje Republic of MACEDONIA
Work/school: unemployed
Disability: Paraplegic

Scope 1- Can you tell us more about your disability?
Igor: After 8 years trying to find my diagnosis, Macedonian doctors finally find tumor in my spinal cord. The tumor was removed too late hence destroyed part of my spinal cord nerves. Therefore I became paralyzed from the waist down and confining to a wheelchair.

Scope 2- What is the biggest obstacle in your life? How did you manage to overcome?
Igor: Biggest obstacle is my cheap heavy wheelchair unfit for my type of disability. But this is not the only obstacle I encounter. For instance toileting for disabled people, accessible transportation and buildings are all problems I am forced to face everyday. How do I manage to overcome? I am fighter and I don't surrender so easy.

Scope 3- Does your disability force your family apart or does it brought everyone closer together?
Igor: We stay closer together because it’s the only way to survive in this country with or without a handicapped person in the family.

Scope 4- Do you sometimes feel difficult to make new friends because of your disability?
Igor: No, my disability is not a problem for making friends and I think it will never be.

Scope 5- Are you still single or are you currently seeing someone right now?
Igor: I just started seeing this girl, so let’s see what’s going to happen. My disability doesn’t stop me from having a healthy relationship.

Scope 6- What is your passion right now? What do you hope to accomplish with it?
Igor: My passion now is to fight against stupid laws which make us more handicapped than we are. We need to change the fact that even our government is discriminated against people with disability.

Scope 7- What do you say would be your greatest achievement in life so far?
Igor: I survived countless life threatening surgeries and I am still ALIVE. I think that is my greatest achievement in life.

Scope 8- If you can give one advice to the readers, what would it be?
Igor: Fight! Fight! Fight!
