Turn Your World Around both implements social-change projects and provides youth with the tools to become change-makers

OUR STORY
Galvanized by sexism and poverty she encountered in India, at the age of thirteen, Tara Suri founded H.O.P.E. (Helping Orphans Pursue Education) to provide all children with opportunities we often take for granted. She started out small - holding bakesales, making bracelets, and even recycling used soda cans - but her idea was big. The initiative has morphed into a greater movement to stimulate youth action: Turn Your World Around. Turn Your World Around seeks to harness the power of youth in making a global difference. Turn Your World Around has received national and international recognition from companies like CosmoGirl!, MTV, Taco Bell, Nestle, CNN, Staples, and more. Most importantly, we've impacted and engaged thousands around the world, providing any youth with the tools to make change. This is where you come in. It's your turn now - start turning your world around!
MISSION
At Turn Your World Around, we believe that youth are a movement - a powerful force that can combat climate change, increase access to education, improve global healthcare, promote peace, advocate for civil liberties, and eradicate poverty. And as youth, we would know. Everyone - young, old, or in-between - is capable of making a difference. Turn Your World Around is committed to developing a new generation of leaders by connecting youth to the world around them, thereby effecting social change on multiple levels.
IMPLEMENTATION
The fundamental component of our program is you. You have the potential to make change; we have the capacity to help. We launched www.turnyourworldaround.org, a social change portal that has numerous features to this end. We provide tools and programs that supplement all stages of the change-making process, from learning about issues to engaging in action.
OUR PROJECTS
We run several different initiatives through the Turn Your World Around portal that you can get involved in:
-Turn-Your-World - Through this program, youth can turn passion into action! Register at www.turnyourworldaround.org and start making a global difference.
-HOPE (Helping Orphans Pursue Education) - HOPE works to provide all children with the opportunity to reach their full potential. This program works to provide children at orphanages around the world, including India and Sudan, with access to basic necessities.
-[Connect a Kid] - This seeks to redefine the quest for global education by engaging youth in a project that increases access to technology in developing nations.
-Shakti Girls - Shakti girls empowers sex-trafficking victims and their daughters in India with a holistic arts-based education. "Shakti" means "power" in Hindi.
