About Us
We bring theatre to youth that addresses the issues of bullying of developmentally disabled and medically fragile children and diversity in the class

The developmentally disabled and medically fragile community if often the target of discrimination. Children carry a very heavy burden in being singled out because of their differences and are targets of bullies in and outside of school. Especially with the images portrayed in the media differences in appearance or condition are amplified. After completing a 5 month training period with the Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities I have returned to my community to promote systems change around issues that affect people with disabilities in Georgia and to expand the circle of those involved in those issues beyond the traditional disability community. My commitment to serving my community through The Children's Bilingual Theater and as a youth leader and social entrepreneur helped me to combine my theatrical talents and experiences as a young woman facing Turner’s Syndrome, a congenital disability to fulfill the GCDD Fellowship. I wrote a bilingual play. “Mr. Ooba’s T.E.A.M.” that addresses the issue of bullying of developmentally disabled and medically fragile children and diversity in our classrooms. It premiered as a readers’ theatre and is being hosted at venues in metro Atlanta. The play is for a k-4 audience and with a storyline with animal characters the characters interact and show that their differences can help each other and that teasing is bullying and Together Everybody Achieves More. OUr TEAM is reaching kids at community events, classrooms and on YouTube and we hope to continue our commitment and kick up the level of presentation and reach more youth throughout Georgia and on the internet
