Youth Venture

Our team holds a sports swap twice per year.

In our small town of Pittsfield, NH we have noticed that many kids are unable to play school and town organized sports because of the costs involved. Since sports is our passion, we decided to help those kids in need. We received a grant from Youth Venture to create the Suncook Valley Sports Swap. The swap is held twice per year in April and August, with smaller swaps held at baseball and soccer sign up nights. The purpose of the sport swaps is that donated or consigned gently used sports equipment can be purchaed at a fraction of the cost of new equipment. The funds that we raise go toward "Sportships" which help with the cost of school and town sign up fees.
Our hope is that the kids who want to play organized sports in our community, can. Sports offers kids a sense of belonging, teaches them how to be a part of a team, and about commitment which will help them with school, family life, jobs and a brighter future.
