Advocacy on various world issues
A friend went to a 30 hour fast. When she got home she told us all about it. She was so excited, you couldn't help being excited with her. She told stories of the horrors of child labor and human trafficking. She wanted to create some project that would address these issues and raise awareness.
All these things happened to her, and she told me. I was so excited. I decided that she and I would start this project. We looked up information on child labor and human trafficking. We created a web page all about these issues.
That was a year ago.
Today, she is slightly less interested. She and I live so far away from eachother that it is hard to do this as one project. I took it into my own hands to start it up where I live. I decided to start it up as a project at my school. I will announce it at our all-school meeting, so that everyone knows about it. Prospective members will come talk to me or come to our first meeting. We will raise awareness of world issues within our school community and our hometown commutnity. Other friends, outside of my school, can start up a project at their own school.
