About Us
The Opp-Guide is a teen-written and edited guide that "rates" community service organizations in the community for other high school students to use.

Most high school kids –practically all high school kids- do not exactly “jump” to the exciting thought of doing community service in their spare time over the weekends or after school. Most students in fact, question why community service hours are even required in high school. “Is the school trying to ruin all of my free time?” Well, unfortunately, the answer to that question is if the service hours were not mandatory then sadly, yet truthfully, almost no one would help out in the community at all!
The Opp-Guide to Community Service in Broward County is a review of various community service organizations in the greater-Fort Lauderdale area, FL, written specifically by teens for teens. The reviews written by students, which are honest, sometimes, funny, and candid, help fulfill the missing link between actually enjoying volunteering and merely doing it for the credit. The purpose of the Guide is to make those “required service” hours more meaningful to the students as well as to the organizations they serve. Only by matching a student’s interest with an organization will that be accomplished.
