About Us
School news paper
Grace and I are juniors at the Met High School in Providence, Rhode Island. It's an independent study school is which the students get to follow their passions and learn through real-world learning. Our passions are writing and learning about our world. The idea of creating a school newspaper came to us for one of our independent projects, and it's not transformed into a whole school project.
Our goals for the newspaper is to educate our school community about events, news, and issues taken place in our urban community and our world. We also want to be the most reliable and valuable source of connection and communication at each of the Met school campuses around Rhode Island and other Big Picture schools around the world. This newspaper will give a voice to each and every student and staff.
One main issue in this world is the lack of renewable resources and sustainability. In order to decrease our waste we are printing on recycled paper, recycling our ink cartridges and left-out newspapers, and in order to reduce transportation emissions we are printing it at our school.
