WHAT WE DO


We train girls to launch their own social change projects, to initiate micro lending projects that loan funds directly to struggling, developing-nation women entrepreneurs, to speak up about self-respect, to raise funds to create holistic education programs for sex trafficking victims, to learn about global issues, and to engage in cultural exchange with their "sisters" from overseas.


IMPACT


We have already mobilized and trained over 5000 girls from more than 15 different countries . And our efforts have raised more than $30,000 thus far to provide scholarships, build a library, furnish classrooms, provide basic needs like food and water, purchase uniforms, and bring social change workshops to hundreds of deserving but impoverished girls around the world. At Girls Helping Girls, we believe that all youth and all girls are a movement: a united and unstoppable force that can solve the world's greatest problems. We strive to empower that movement.
We do this through one of several ways:

1. EMPOWER-A-GIRL : A sister-team program that partners groups of girls in the US with girls in developing countries to:
A. Dialogue in a Cultural Exchange program,
B. Learn about Global Issues,
C. Design and implement their Social Change projects

2. TRANSFORM-YOUR-WORLD : Partners girls with a successful youth entrepreneur to launch and sustain their own organization, business, or other social change project.

3. RAISE-It-UP! : Micro lending- Trains girls to raise awareness and funds to loan to women in developing countries seeking to launch a sustainable business.

4. FUND-FOR-RESPECT : Girls become speakers (Respect Advocates) at local schools to teach about self-respect and self-esteem as well as raise funds to create holistic education programs for trafficking victims overseas.

Girls Helping Girls believes that we must treat all girls as partners, not as recipients, in the global development process. Hence, we created The Sisters 4 Peace Network , a social-change movement that provides the one-on-one mentorship, Transform Your World Toolkits, and support network to aspiring girl changemakers around the globe who are working independently from a team to launch their own projects.
