An organization that provides coats to children in need of them in Nebraska.

Coats For Kids was created in Fall of 2007 when Sydney Swanson was a Jr. Leader for a 4-H afterschool program, she noticed that several of the children did not have the Coats they needed for a Nebraska winter, she started an annual Coats For Kids drive in her town collection 175 coats and re-distributing them to children and their parents that were in need. During the drive Sydney kept in touch with the media and sorted and washed every coat that was recieved. When Sydney was crowned the 2008 Miss Nebraska National Teenager, she decided that it would be a good idea to make Coats For Kids a state program for the pageant through her queen sisters that live in different towns. Now Coats For Kids is an annual event all across Nebraska.
