Chillicothe Gay-Straight Alliance

Chillicothe GSA is a Venture Team striving to create tolerance of everyone reguardless of sexual orientation or gender expression and creating a world where all individuals are equal! We are based as a School Organization at Chillicothe High School where we work with students and staff to end intolerance and homophobia in our community. Our goal is to give our community the opportunity to make a social change and open up to the citizens, friends and family around them; to not only tolerate but accept everyone for who they are.

Bio

Chillicothe High School Gay-Straight Alliance was founded by Kaila McGarvey and Richard Walsh in March of 2008. Kaila McGarvey graduated and has continued onto college; Richard Walsh renamed the organization and continued to build the club into what it is today with the help of the first Chillicothe Gay-Straight Alliance Council. The Council members are:

  • Secretary Natalie Majors
  • Treasurer Hayley Drewyor
  • Spokes Person Sam Sylvester
  • Design Specialist Jon Morgan
  • Design Specialist Hallie Zarbakhsh

    • The team works together to promote tolerance in their school and acceptance in their community. With events like Diversity Week, Day of Silence and Mix It Up Day, Chillicothe Gay-Straight Alliance is working to make Chillicothe a better community for everyone.
