The Caritas Collective is a pro bono strategy consultancy which is dedicated to enhancing Boston’s non-profit and student communities. We empower non-profits by providing custom solutions through industry analysis and innovative framework development. At the same time, we offer students from local universities an opportunity to give back to the community, grow their consulting skills, and develop their network. Pairing these two initiatives creates a new value proposition by enabling both students and non-profits to support each other.

How does your group impact your community?

The Caritas Collective taps into the previously divided group of students in Boston in order to create a dynamic organization and deliver value to clients. We respect the positive impact non-profits make on the community and wants to help further that mission through a combination of high level strategy projects and implementation planning. The Caritas Collective impacts the Boston community by helping non-profits run more efficiently and supplementing student education.

How many people have been impacted by your group?

The Caritas Collective impacts individuals through the nonprofits it works with. With three engagements in process focused on different locations around the world, Caritas is on its way to shaping the lives of countless individuals. Current projects include designing a fund raising plan for an organization promoting racial and religious equality in Ukraine, creating an outreach program for breast cancer awareness, and helping to promote job retraining for unemployed adults.

Looking back we should have...

In retrospect, we should have started the Caritas Collective at an earlier time. Two of our founding members are graduating in the spring, which means we haven't had much time to establish ourselves and develop our organizational structure/best practices.

Looking back we did a great job at...

One thing that the Caritas Collective has excelled in so far is utilizing the resources available to us. By tapping the knowledge and experience of professors and experienced consultants we have avoided some of the pitfalls that small businesses face and have maintained a very fast pace of growth.

What we really enjoy about being young changemakers is...

We like having the opportunity to make a difference. After completing our first engagement, we looked back on what we had accomplished as students. Not only did we learn a lot , but we helped to shape the way existing changemakers conduct their business. By empowering students to use what they have learned in business school to better the world around them, we are expanding the impact that we can make.
