Founded and lead by Ernestine Fu, Visual Arts and Music for Society (VAMS) International is a non-profit organization that utilizes and develops the talents of high school students in the areas of visual arts, performing arts, and music with the focus on benefiting society. Their goal is to raise public awareness and help those who suffer from poverty, diseases, disorders, and disabilities. From burn victims to homeless families, VAMS achieves its goals by visiting and reaching out to hundreds of individuals at hospitals, orphanages, convalescent homes, and other similar locations. Each VAMS chapter regularly prepares and hosts events for those who are often forgotten in society. These events occur about once every one or two months and consist of performing orchestral and choral selections and/or musical skits, in addition to interacting with the patients through chatting, craft making, dancing, and other similar activities.

Arts programs

So, first time here. Thought I'd start it off with a blog.
Well, my original idea when I first stumbled upon this site was to help start more arts programs in schools without them, or grade D/F schools.
The school district I am in, is going through major budget cuts. Which means cutting out extracurriculars such as art. Coming from an art high school, I wish younger kids will be able to have an exposure to the arts.

At six in the morning waking up with sleepy eyes and dreamy thoughts, thinking about the unfinished homework and the test results, is how the children today start their day. United Arts Society (UAS) aims to break this monotonous routine and open a new world of creativity and art to widen the horizons of their minds.

Our new sign- this artist came back for a week running to get it all just right. This is the sign that faces the street, tells everyone who we are, and gets all sorts of people to crane their necks as they drive by
