We make books personal!

Every child gets to pick out their very own book, and we add a bookplate to the book with the child's name on it. This is a great way to make the experience special. Mark Teague, famous author and illustrator, was kind enough to make a super cute bookplate for My Own Book. This makes the experience even better for the children.
In our country many, many children do not have a single book of their own. Through My Own Book we are working on getting books to children.

Mark Teague bookplates give children the pride of ownership

Mark Teague, the famous children's author and illustrator, taught us an important lesson: don't be afraid to ask anyone for help! We wrote to Mr. Teague and told him about our program. He sent us a box of autographed books that he had written- LaRue for Mayor, Pigsty, The Secret Shortcut., and The Flying Dragon Room. You know, all those really great books you remember from when you were younger?
