Have you been watching the latest series of the X-Factor? If you have been you will know that two weekends ago a guy called Scott Bruton got voted off the show. Now this is hardly newsworthy as someone gets voted off the show every week but the reason I wanted to talk about it is that it has been rumoured since getting voted off he has wanted to get out of his contract with the show.

This week I want to talk about an email I got this week from some of the guys working on the E4 series Skins telling me about competitions they are running for young people to get their music featured on the show and to secure speaking roles. This got me thinking for my blog this week.

This month will see McFly trying to expand their fanbase by giving away their latest album for free through The Mail on Sunday through which they expect their album to reach three million homes in the UK. We have already seen the likes of Prince giving away his album through the Mail as well as Radiohead offering their album in exchange for a donation on the internet but it now looks like pop acts are getting in on the act.

This week British Record Label EMI have announced they are to cut 2,000 jobs worldwide to cut costs in the face of falling CD sales and the problems encountered with the new digital music era. We are having a concert at Nashua high school south tuesday june 10 at 7-9. it will feature some of NH’s best and brightest doing what they do best. it will also have a variety of different styles and many schools will be represented. the whole point of the concert is to not only show great music but to also show how young people can be rallied up for change. These people all want to change the world and to save a life. Proceeds are going to the global fund. And that charity deals with AID’s victims and Malaria victims and TB victims.

Operation Harmony! Goals

We have high hopes for OH! and we want it to be so many things, but right now our rights and abilities to stretch to certain levels are nonexistant so for the time being we are trying to meet our goals, but at the same time trying to simply make the world a better place. We are walking in marathons to raise awareness for certain things, adopting roads, and raising money for other orgainizations with a similar goal. However, this foundation has a promising future and we have high hopes and standarts of exactly what we want operation Harmony! to be.
