ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION PROJECT

New Light Youth Association is a community based organization registered under the ministry of sports and youth affairs and has been in force for 7yrs.
The group has been designed to address these basic components.
To reduce youth vulnerability especially those residing in urban areas by initiating programs that addresses the plight of the youth.
To promote and emperor the youth with relevant information and skills on employment creation.
To provide career and employment opportunities so as to have more access to job markets for the youth.
To undertake activities geared towards environment and global issues.
To asses youth needs and ideas.
New Light Youth Association operations are governed through partnership with youths, youth serving organizations and youth led organization, non-profit organization and non-governmental organizations.
MISSION.
New Light Youth Association seeks to partner with governmental organizations, civil society organization, private sector, UN agencies and youth organizations to create opportunities for youths under one roof that will impart appropriate skills, give relevant and timely information, build networks and are meaningful so as to engage youths in developed projects.
PAST PROJECTS.
They involve clean-up and planting of trees along the Nairobi River in Kenya which was well attended by various members of the community, youth groups and leading organizations.
We realized the river and its surrounding environment needed a thorough cleaning and new light youth association wanted to facilitate smooth running of the river.

We have a continuous project that will provide a lot of opportunity for the youth and the surrounding community.

Description.
The project aims to encourage citizens to realize the importance of the environment and their link to it.
Objectives.
To change the attitude of people about pollution and littering around the Nairobi river.
To involve the community in cleaning up around their surrounding and public places.
Find ways to clean and maintain the river flow and the tress planted around it.
Needs.
We need to fully discuss the proposal with the community and environmental organizations to get written commitments from them and other youth organization and partners.
We need to get assistance in kind or cash to buy tools and equipments so as to maintain the project we started of cleaning up the Nairobi River and trees we planted.
We need the support of other organization to help us educate and make the river in the society.
We need media to reach out to more people so as to attend and be involved in our project.
Activities.
The organization would like to hold various activities to see our project through;
Seminars.
Incorporating the messages and ideas through fashion, media, public addresses and posters.
Songs and dances for entertainment.
Wall paintings and decorations.
