Ashford Family day took place on September 16th, 2007 (also during Clean Up the World Weekend)! The Green Teens (Kayla, Jessie, Kelsey, and Lindsay) set up a Eco-Bag booth at the event to act as a fundraiser. We let children that attended the event decorate their own cloth bag to bring to grocery stores, shopping, and more! We also gave speeches at the event on the importance of trees and after the festivities were over the Green Teens headed over to Ashford Memorial Park in Ashford, CT to hold a small tree planting ceremony. Green Teens donated 2 Red Maple trees to the park and town of Ashford (we will post pictures and the thank you letter we recieved soon!) The planting of these trees symbolizes planting a sapling that will grow into a very environmental community!
The day was a great success!
