I found this stat awhile ago and I think it's really scary. What can we do to encourage creativity?
Education for most people doesn't promote creativity. It actually stifles it: 98% of children between 3 and 5 showed "divergent thinking" — in which they were able to make connections and think in terms of analogy and metaphor. But at 15, only 10% showed such capabilities, and that figure dropped to just 2% by age 25.
