Congratulations Box City Vigil!
Last Friday, May 4th, the Box City Vigil held their third annual all-night vigil on the state capital grounds! Despite the rain, over 125 people attended to spend the night in a city of boxes, listen to local musicians, meet other interested youth, and listen to Senators, policy-researchers, and advocates discuss youth homelessness in Minnesota. The highlight of the event occurred when everyone filed into the State Capital to present a card-board thank-you to a key legislator in the House. We were recognized by the house and commended for our efforts to raise awareness of youth homelessness. Later that night, everyone was invited back inside to watch the signing of the bill delegating funds to youth homelessness into action!
