Below are some tips for filling out the Narrative Format of the Action Plan.
1. What’s your Venture idea?
Consider dividing this question into three sections.
- What community need does your Venture fill?
- How will you fill this community need? (What is your Venture idea?)
- Why did your team choose this idea?
2. What’s your immediate action plan?
Explain your major goals and the specific tasks you will need to complete in order to accomplish each goal. Provide as much detail as possible. Next, explain how your Venture will measure impact on the community. Answer the question, “How will we know our Venture Team is making a difference?”
3. How will you maintain your Venture in the long-term?
Explain how you will fund your Venture beyond the YV seed funding. Go on to discuss strategies for sustainability in membership and leadership. For help on this, check out our tips sheets on sustainability.
4. Who will be on your team? Who will support your team?
Include each Venturer’s name, role, and responsibility. Provide as much detail about each person’s responsibility as possible. Also, include the name of your Ally; his/her contact information, and several reasons why your Venture team chose him/her to be your Ally.
