The Ann M. Martin Foundation supports organizations working on homelessness, education, literacy, children and animals. 501(c)(3) status is required to apply for a grant worth up to $20,000.

$500 Youth Action Net awards are available to young people age 18-29 who have a leadership role in a youth-led initiative that works to create positive change in their community.
Third Wave Foundation:

Third Wave Foundation, led by women and transgender young people age 15-30, supports work that exists to challenge sexism, racism, homophobia, economic injustice, and other forms of oppression.
Ellen Dougherty Activist Fund:

The Ellen Dougherty Activist Fund provides grants of up to $2,000 to women 19 and under who propose to develop and lead projects focused on activism and social change.
Captain Planet Foundation:

The Captain Planet Foundation offers grants up to $2,500 are awarded to 501(c)(3) organizations for ands-on projects which raise awareness of environmental issues and involve youth.

Brower Youth Awards:

The Brower Youth Awards recognize six environmental leaders age 13-22 with prizes of $3,000 each. Additionally, each winner is brought to San Francisco for the award week and a backcountry camping trip.
Prudential Spirit of Community Awards:

Outstanding middle and high school age volunteers are eligible to receive $1,000 and an all-expense-paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington, D.C. from Prudential.
NetAid Global Action Awards:

NetAid honors high school students who have organized and led a project that has helped people in developing countries, or raised awareness about global poverty in their own communities. Honorees receive a $5,000 scholarship.
Barron Prize:

Disney Minnie Grants for Global Youth Service Day 2008

The Walt Disney Company and Youth Service America are excited to announce grants of up to $500 to support youth-led service projects. These grants support youth (ages 5-14) in planning and implementing service projects in their community. Teachers, older youth (15-25), and youth-serving organizations are also eligible to apply, if they engage younger youth (5-14) in planning and implementing the project. A significant part of the service must take place on GYSD 2008, April 25-27.
We encourage youth to address important issues such as climate change, malaria or other diseases, human rights, literacy, or others. Applicants can use the United Nations' Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) as a reference.
Applications are welcome from all countries. While grant information will be available in: Spanish, Français (French), Russian, Chinese, and Hindi, applications will be accepted in English only (an online translation tool is available at the YSA website). Applicants from China, India, and Russia are especially encouraged to apply. Past Disney Minnie Grantees are also eligible to apply.

Global Action Awards to Honor Students for Global Poverty Efforts
(US applicants)

NetAid, an initiative of Mercy Corps, is accepting applications for the Global Action Awards. The awards honor high school students in the United States who have shown great leadership in areas such as preventing disease, alleviating hunger, protecting the environment, promoting human rights, and improving access to clean drinking water, health care, or education. Projects may involve organizing advocacy campaigns, raising funds, volunteering, or using media and technology to involve others in the fight against global poverty. The honorees receive $5,000 each for college or a charitable cause of their choice, and are honored at a ceremony in New York City. Applicants must be a current U.S. high school student, or have graduated from high school in spring 2007. Guidelines and application materials available here.

Action For Nature's International Young Eco-Hero Awards

Action For Nature, a nonprofit organization that encourages young people around the world to carry out individual environmental action projects, presents the International Young Eco-Hero Awards to recognize the individual accomplishments of young people (ages 8-16) whose personal actions have significantly improved the environment. Action For Nature will award cash prizes of up to $500 each to young Eco-Heroes for their outstanding accomplishments in environmental advocacy, environmental health, research, or protection of the natural world. The applications will be judged according to several criteria, including but not limited to originality, difficulty, organization, length of time devoted to the project, influencing/educating others, use of outside resources (e.g., library, experts, media, community leaders), degree of success in reaching goals, and the impact on the environment. Youth Run Organization's Sustainability Grants (Australian applicants)

The Foundation for Young Australians is offering a new funding opportunity that provides funding to assist youth led and youth run organizations to strengthen the future of the organization by improving management and operations. This grant in two stages provides up to $270,000 over three years and will be available to two (2) youth led - youth run organizations based in Australia. The Volvo Adventure Award (US & Overseas applicants)

Arranged in collaboration with the United Nations Environmental Programmed (UNEP) the Volvo Adventure Award rewards young people who run their own environmental projects. We are now looking for the 2008. If you know of any groups of 13-16 year olds working on an environmental project they only have a few weeks to enter. All they have to do is register and enter your project now by visiting www.volvoadventure.org
By registering, they have the opportunity to win an all-expenses-paid trip to the final in Sweden and the chance of a financial reward that could make it possible to run, improve or enhance your project. For
young people it could be an adventure that offers a chance to make new friends all over the world, attract international attention and recognition for their project.
