YOU Could Give Out the 20,000th Book to a Less Fortunate Child!
My Own Book is dedicated to spreading the joy of reading by visiting K-3rd Grade classrooms, reading aloud, and letting the children choose from a selection of brand new books. It is fun and easy to do and we are always looking for volunteers to help. All you need to do to get involved is:
1. Identify a local school with needy children or a library that serves underprivileged kids.
2. Set up a time/date to read to them (by talking with the principal or head librarian)
3. Contact us and tell us how many books/bookplates you need and we will ship them out to you
4. Have the event!
5. Report back to us with stories of your success.
You will be amazed at how excited the children get from being able to pick a book of their very own. It is very exciting! So, take some time to brighten some lives in your community! Visit our website at www.myownbook.net
